Dear Maysie,
Sorry we haven’t written sooner! June turned out to be another incredibly busy month, and we’ve only just managed to find a moment to catch up with you.
It’s been a whirlwind of delicious buffets, business meetings, and training lunches, keeping the team on their toes. Looking ahead, July is already shaping up to be just as busy, with two afternoon tea bookings for over 30 guests each already in the diary.
Out on the farm, we made hay while the sun shone, and the lads have been hard at work preparing the sheds and machinery ready for harvest. Combining has now officially begun, which always marks an exciting but nerve wrecking time of year.
To celebrate the tennis season, we’ve also launched our Wimbledon Specials. Customers can enjoy our classic selection of four triangular afternoon tea style sandwiches, served alongside a freshly baked classic Wimbledon scone served with jam and clotted cream, plus sweet strawberries – the perfect summer treat!
One of the highlights of the June was welcoming more than 65 visitors from Australia and the Netherlands for lunch while they were visiting the local trial plots run by Adama. It was wonderful to host such an international group and showcase a little of our hospitality and we proved that ‘bus load’ isn’t always an expression, we mean it!
We’ve also gained a rather unexpected regular visitor! A hare has decided to make itself at home, seeking out the cool shade beneath the staff cars during the warmer days. Naturally, we couldn’t resist giving him a name – everyone now knows him as Lenny.
Finally, we had a really exciting meeting with the Farming Community Network (FCN). We’re incredibly proud to be supporting the fantastic work they do in raising awareness of mental health within the farming community. It’s a cause that’s very close to our hearts, and we’re looking forward to working together on some exciting projects in the months ahead.
That’s all from us for now. We hope you’re enjoying the sunshine in the sky, and we’ll be back soon with another update on everything happening here at Hall Farm, next month!
Thank you for being part of our journey, Maysie. Looking forward to sharing more updates, events, and stories with you soon.
Lots of Love
